I officially work for the Magic Kingdom now, my favorite park in all of Disney World! And the above ride is all mine until May - that’s right, I’m working at Splash Mountain :) The costume is cute and cowgirlish, I just need to get some hiking boots (yup, you read that right). The people are fun and I get to be in my favorite park all day, so I’m definitly happy with my new role. I used to not be such a big fan of drops, but the more I ride Splash, the more the drop doesn’t bother me - and it’s super fun to go down with your hands up cuz then your butt flies off the seat too :p
The first part of training today was all history about Walt and the Magic Kingdom, which I found really interesting. We had Cinderella Castle to ourselves until the gates opened at 9am, and the sight of Main Street filling with people not just walking but running towards the castle was a beautiful sight that I will never forget. For the rest of the day, I got paid to ride Buzz Lightyear and Haunted Mansion. I won’t be able to pick up shifts at HM after all, but I’m really not that upset about it now that I see how much fun Splash is; I’m too happy and smiley to be gloomy all day anyway!
I’m missing nights at Goofy’s with my CP class, and our late night Applebees/B Dubbs dining adventures. I’m really looking forward to this new program though, and am constantly amazed by and reminded of the magic that Disney creates everyday, and how lucky I am to be apart of it. Even the fact that I’m not friends with a princess or a fuzzy isn’t bothering me as much anymore - God just must have more instore for me than that.
I’m starting to mull over what I want to do come May when my second program wraps up, still fighting with my internet, and of course, missing Christo like crazy. He is such a light in my life, I really cannot believe how lucky I am. I truely am just happy with life right now :)
