Splashin’.
Thanks to Christo, I now have wireless internet in my apartment! So, now I can actually move around on my laptop again, and blog while I’m waiting for food to cook - probably not the smartest idea, don’t try it at home.
These past few days have been all early morning training shifts, and aside from dragging my butt out of bed, I really haven’t minded it. Splash is super fun to work, and I get to ride it multiple times a day. The big 5 story drop on it doesn’t even bother my stomach anymore, and I’m getting to learn all the names of the ‘story scenes’ in it and all the backstage secrets. Oh, and next time you ride it, look behind you as you’re going down the drop, the view is pretty cool. I really need to watch the movie that Splash is based off of, an old slightly racist Disney movie called ‘Song of the South’ because, yes, I still dramaturg everything :)
Today I dispatched my first log of people - yeah, me sending people off in a ride, kinda scary right? - as well as unloaded my first log. Also, I get to yell at people (in a nice way) to pull down on their lap bars, and (my favorite) send out a broadcast either ride wide or just in a specific area if a guest does something dumb like stand up while the ride is moving or get out of the log (yes, it does happen believe it or not, because when people come on vay kay, they leave their brains at home).
So, life is good. I’m enjoying my apartment and new roommates, as well as my new job. I just miss my friends and my social life, it sure is lonely without them. Once I am done being so tired from work that afterwards all I want to do is crawl into bed and watch Gossip Girl reruns, I’ll start working on meeting some new peeps. Oh, and once I have learned Splash backwards and forwards so that I can pass my 137 multiple choice question assessment (gulp). Wish me luck!
